This exhibit represents Frank Varela’s musical influences and masterful, surrealistic artistry. Being a jazz musician, these paintings were created using a similar approach to interpretation by using the paint brush as a vehicle to unleash the textures and colors inspired by the harmony he is experiencing during creation. Many of his works include instruments or musicians who have inspired him both musically and artistically.
