The 19th Annual Litchfield Jazz Festival
August 8-10, 2014
Goshen, CT 06756
“The Litchfield” is not just a festival—it’s a jazz family. The focus is quality across the boards —the music, art, food and clinics. Listen, learn and love jazz at the Festival’s 19th anniversary back at its stomping grounds at the Goshen Fairgrounds in Goshen, CT from August 8-10. The weekend includes an Opening Night Friends Gala, three days of music on two stages, fine art and handmade crafts, fantastic food, wine and beer. Surrounded by the views and sunsets over the rolling Litchfield Hills one can attend artist talks and clinics, student performances, and craft workshops for the youngest set. The line-up features stellar performances by this year’s Monk Vocal Competition winner Cécile McLorin Salvant, a Gospel presence from the great Kirk Walhum, world-famous guitarist Mike Stern’s first appearance, the debut of the Litchfield Jazz Festival Orchestra Django Reinhardt project, vocalist and pianist Anthony Strong from England, and much more. For five weeks leading up to the Jazz Festival is Litchfield Jazz Camp (July 6-August 8) on the campus of Canterbury School in New Milford, CT. A non-competitive total jazz immersion for students ages 12 through adult led by Music Director Don Braden and taught by award-winning touring and recording jazz musicians. Students have the exciting opportunity to perform on a second stage during the weekend of the Jazz Festival.
